The PERSONALITY OF GOD Part 2 THE LION (JUSTICE)

Isaiah 33:22 “For the LORD is our judge, the LORD is our lawgiver, the LORD is our king; it is he who will save us.”
Contd from PERSONALITY OF GOD PART 1

Hi friends,
Blaise Pascal once said,  “Justice and power must be brought together, so that whatever is just may be powerful, and whatever is powerful may be just.”
Thus while we continue to look at the first attribute of God, namely POWER, it is essential to emphasize that Our Father is not only Powerful but also a Lover of Justice.
2) OUR GOD IS A LOVER OF JUSTICE:
When we speak of a Good Judge we know that first & foremost He is impartial. Secondly He must be worthy to pass the judgment. Our Holy God is the only one who is sinless and hence the only One qualified and worthy to judge us.
If we were to enter the Courtroom of God for judgment, all of us would fall short and fail miserably. We will suddenly realize our frailty and utter helplessness. It is a sheer impossibility to ever reach His standards of Righteousness. Acc to  Isa 64:6 "Our Righteousness are like filthy rags in His sight.” Now if we argue that since God is Love, He will close His eyes to our sins , will not that make Him a corrupt judge? A trustworthy Judge will always be fair in his verdict and ensure that the guilty is punished.
Let us reflect for a moment the dilemma the Father Heart faces – on the one side He is the Righteous Judge of all Mankind while on the other is His intense love for us.  None of us could ever solve that one but nothing is impossible for Our Amazing Lord who found the one and only way out to save us and yet remain true to His character- To be LOVE and JUST. John 3:16 says “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believeth in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life.” Thus through a ransom sacrifice, the shed blood of His Son Jesus, God prepares a way for us once and for all to be free from the guilt of sin. The only qualification required of us now is to truly repent of our past sinful life , to acknowledge our failure to meet God’s standards of holiness and then to humbly & gratefully accept by faith the free gift of salvation by entering into a relationship with the Lord Jesus.(Rom 10:9,10)
When we truly do this, the Lord will accept us and make us like Him. When God now looks at us,He does not see our sins, He sees only the spotless and pure blood of His Son Jesus. He no longer remembers our iniquity and we are now His beloved Children. What a POWERFUL GOD we have.
Scriptures that reveal to us that we have a GOD who loves JUSTICE :
Deuteronomy 32:4 “He is the Rock, his works are perfect, and all his ways are just. A faithful God who does no wrong, upright and just is he.”
Psalm 11:7 “For the LORD is righteous, he loves justice; upright men will see his face.”
1 John 1:9 “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.”
Deuteronomy 10:17 “For the LORD your God is God of gods and Lord of lords, the great God, mighty and awesome, who shows no partiality and accepts no bribes.”
Romans 2:11 “For God does not show favoritism.”
2 Chronicles 19:7 “Now let the fear of the LORD be upon you. Judge carefully, for with the LORD our God there is no injustice or partiality or bribery."
Our God is a just God who cannot be unfair or tolerate anything that is against His Law(THE WRITTEN WORD OF GOD).Many claim that obeying the LAW belongs to the Old Covenant and we are under the New Covenant where we need not obey the LAW but live by grace alone. Shall we then take advantage of the grace of God and misuse His kind mercy to us as a license to sin? Heb 10:29 : “How severely do you think a man deserves to be punished who has trampled the Son of God under foot, who has treated as an unholy thing the blood of the covenant that sanctified him, as if it were common and unholy, and have insulted and disdained the Holy Spirit who brings God's mercy to us?”
Our true love for God is proved only when we obey His commandments. When we are controlled by the Spirit of God, we will no longer be controlled by the sinful nature and will want to obey Him out of love and not out of compulsion.
1 John 3:24 Those who obey his commands live in him, and he in them. And this is how we know that he lives in us: We know it by the Spirit he gave us.
1 John 5:3 This is love for God: to obey his commands. And his commands are not burdensome,
1 John 2:3 This is how we can be sure that we have come to know him: if we continually keep his commandments.

2 Corin 5:10 “For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive what is due him for the things done while in the body, whether good or bad.”

Matthew 16:27 For the Son of Man is going to come in his Father's glory with his angels, and then he will reward each person according to what he has done.

1 Corin 3:13: “The workmanship of each person will become evident, for the day of judgment will show what it is, because it will be revealed with fire, and the fire will test the quality of each person's work.”

Thus we can be comforted that in this world so full of injustice, we have a Righteous God who is a Lover of Justice.
