His Little Spark In The Dark: WHY BETH MOORE IS MY FAV BIBLE TEACHER!

Most of us are familiar with Beth Moore , but for those of you who don’t know her, I’d like to share with you this amazing 50+ year old Bible study teacher so specially loved by millions all over the world. The first teaching I heard of hers was entitled : “SO LONG INSECURITY,YOU’VE BEEN A BAD FRIEND TO US.”- a strongly recommended teaching which has been life changing for me; and has eversince made me a die-hard Beth Moore fan!

Here are 8 reasons why Beth continues to be my favorite Bible study teacher:

1) BROKEN TO BE A BLESSING :

She is one of those special people who has been broken to become a blessing. We feel she understands us because she has graduated from the School of painful experiences. Beth knows exactly what she’s talking about for she too has been there and survived . Her powerful anointing comes from her heart that has been healed by the Master’s hand.

2)HONEST & TRANSPARENT:

Beth is so straightforward and bluntly honest that she often leaves us open - mouthed in awe as she lays it all out -the good ,the bad and the ugly from the pages of her life for us to read and learn from- A living testimony for all to see and understand how the powerful hand of God can bless our mess and make it our message.

3)HUMILITY:

It takes real guts and dying to self to be able to put ourselves out like that- bare and exposed without any falsehood for the whole world to see, maybe judge or even criticize. But it is this very humility and openness that actually draws us closest to Beth for we see a part of ourselves in her every time she speaks about her brokenness/insecurity/fear of failure/rejection/struggles with the flesh. She sits down with us like an elder sister and shares with us from the Bible and her personal walk with God how we can tackle such situations when they arise in our life.

4)SIMPLICITY :

I love the way she uses Simple everyday examples [the most recent being the one I heard today] - a bottle of milk without a lid / a pet squirrel to illustrate what she has to speak. She speaks in a way that anyone (without exceptions )can understand .

5)INTELLIGENT & INTERESTING:

A real winning combo- something for the mind to chew and also for the heart to wonder. The energy and fervor with which she communicates parallels drawn from everyday life to expound sound theology has never failed to amaze me! Oh I wish more teachers taught like her! Sadly many of them are intelligent but boring OR interesting (rather amusing ..I should say!..)but hardly give us solid meat to chew on!

6)UNIQUE WAY OF TEACHING:

The way she takes any scripture passage and draws from it the most amazing teaching can be compared to squeezing juice from an Orange-and giving it to the thirsty to drink.

7)WITTY & AMUSING:

A Beth Moore Bible study is always peppered with smiles, laughs and lots of FUN. If you are looking for a dry and stern Bible teacher, she is definitely not your person!She is witty, quirky and humorous, always managing to hit the nail on the head with her wonderful sense of humor!- definitely one of a kind!

8)LOVING AND COMPASSIONATE:

A trait that Bible teachers often fail to communicate in spite of it being the primary trait that our Lord Jesus always demonstrated for us to follow. Last but not the least, I love Beth Moore for she radiates the love and compassion of Christ as her voice quivers and her eyes fill whenever she talks about matters close to the Father’s heart such as salvation of souls. We hear her speaking a language that we long to hear and few dare to speak – the language of LOVE.
