Hi friends,
In this time of economic crisis and financial lack, it is so very important for us to understand the Biblical principle of Tithing. I won’t be surprised if I see you disbelievingly shake your head and ask me, how can giving away money actually help me pay my bills ? I too thought just like that. Until I truly understood the Biblical Principle of TITHING. Like all other Kingdom Principles , it requires of us to obey not with our logic / reasoning but with faith.
Malachi 3:10 says : “Bring all the tithes into the storehouse so there will be enough food in my Temple. If you do," says the LORD of Heaven's Armies, "I will open the windows of heaven for you. I will pour out a blessing so great you won't have enough room to take it in! TRY IT! PUT ME TO THE TEST!” Do you know friend, this is the ONLY one place in the whole Bible where God actually challenges us to TEST Him? His word is good enough for us to believe for we know that HE IS TRUTH and cannot lie but isn’t it so much more powerful when God Himself challenges us in this one thing to TEST HIM? Doesn’t He actually put Himself at risk when He does that ? Why do we doubt Him then? How can we not safely TRUST Him to do what He says?

Today , I have a SECRET to share with you- Friend, today I bring to you a much ignored ,maybe even misunderstood Biblical Principle. You may not immediately fully accept/ even believe what I am going to share with you, but I request you to please hear me out. Remember GOD IS NO LIAR; Will you TEST Him in this just as He asks us to?
10 Important Truths I ‘ve learnt about TITHING:
2)You may say I worked hard to make my income and I don’t want to just give away this hard earned money, but isn’t all that we have already His? Our employment, intelligence, health, connections, family, why we even the breath in our nostrils is His gift, His mercy, His grace alone and we dare argue about giving to the Lord what is already His?( Ref Eccle 5:16-17,19, James 1:17)
3) TITHING IS A COMMAND, not an option. Did you know that tithing is actually related to the 1st commandment? : “Love the Lord your God with all your heart, mind and soul.”(Mathew 22:37-38) Do we love God enough to obey and trust Him with our finances? When we tithe correctly, we actually show our love to Him and thus enter into a covenant relationship with God. We thus become eligible for the PROMISED BLESSINGS the covenant relationship brings with it.- PROTECTION, HEALING, PROVISION, DELIVERANCE, Generational Blessings, GOD will rebuke the devourer Himself for us (Deu 28:1-14 , 30:9, Mal 3:10-12,Isa 58:8,9)
4)You may tell me – “I cannot afford to tithe correctly. Would you believe me if I tell you that actually you cannot afford NOT to tithe correctly. Disobedience to God’s commandments actually opens the door to Satan to enter our lives and brings CURSES that steal, kill and destroy us? John 10:10. By robbing God of what belongs to Him, we unknowingly bring curses upon ourselves. Some of the signs of the curses can be found in (Deu 28:15-68.)

5) Jesus gave to the poor, needy and oppressed all the time when He was on earth. It was such a common practice with Him and that is why we see in John 13:27-29 that the disciples thought he was talking about giving money to the poor when He asks Judas to “Hurry up and do it.” As a true disciples of Jesus, we need to follow the example of our Master.
6)We must always give the tithe in the name of the Lord. We need to say “the Lord Jesus has asked me to give this to you.” When we do that, we give Him the glory and this creates an opportunity for the receiver to enter into a relationship with the God who cares enough for his personal needs. Delivering the Love of God through His treasury is tangible evidence that the Lord lives and cares.
7) The tithe must always go into the hands of a person, not utilities, literature, buildings, etc.
8) We must always be open to the Holy Spirit for direction as to how we should tithe.
9)Did you know that Tithing is not considered complete unless it is delivered to the people GOD has specified?
WHO ARE THE BENEFICIARIES OF TITHES? Acc to Deu 26: 12,13., Neh 12: 44-47, Isa 58:6-8 they are:
a)The Levite:- Genuine Full time ministers of God – Pastors/Teachers/Apostles/ Prophets/Evangelists.
b)The Stranger/foreigners:-Those who don’t know Christ, maybe even an aethist.
c) The Fatherless/Orphans:-Abandoned Children, children of unwed mothers,from divorced families etc.
d)The Widows:- (not those of our family but those whose families won’t take care of)
e)The Singers:-God’s anointed musicians ,psalmists- who sing for God and get songs from God/not church choirs.
f)The Porters:-Gatekeepers who watched the doors of the temple, janitors.
g)The Oppressed:- The needy & poor who have no one to take care of them.
10)We cannot underestimate the importance of Tithing in our Spiritual Lives. It is a legal matter in the spirit realm as our disobedience gives Satan the legal right to enter our lives. Many of our sicknesses, unanswered prayers, unexplainable suffering maybe due to the curse that we have brought on ourselves by our ignorance. Hosea 4:6 says : “My people are destroyed because of lack of knowledge.”
Friend, today I’m going to be extra bold (because I care for you) and am going to challenge you, WILL YOU DARE TO PUT GOD TO THE TEST BY TITHING in the manner He has prescribed? I guarantee you will never regret it; in fact you will see first-hand His goodness manifested in your life. And when you are blessed, [for you surely will be], do testify of His faithfulness and pass the SECRET along!
